首先，英美國人對高考的理解貌似跟我們不太一樣，有些人認為它可以籠統地算作一場(chǎng)考試，因此用的是單數exam；而有些人認為它是一系列的考試，所以要用復數exams，各有各的道理。
其次，這個(gè)“高”（高等學(xué)校）是翻譯成college還是university？我們常常聽(tīng)到的解釋是“college是學(xué)院，而university是綜合性大學(xué)”。其實(shí)都可以，尤其是在美國英語(yǔ)中，MacMillan English Dictionary - American是這樣解釋college的：in the U.S., a place that gives students degrees. A school of this typecan also be called a universityif it is large enough to give degrees in more than one subject。
