With the population of the world increasing from 2 billion 500 million in 1950 to more than 7 billion in 2011, the population has a profound influence on development. 7 billion of the world's population is both a challenge and an opportunity. It affects sustainable development, urbanization, access to medical services and youth rights.
In 1989, the Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme in its decision No. 89/46 suggested that the international community to July 11th each year as the world's population, in order to focus on the population development plan of the urgency and the solutions to solve these problems.
