Recent years have witnessed an increase in peoples expenses on Spring Festival. Of all the expenses, money spent on various gifts is at the top of the list, accounting for about 40%. By comparison, those on food and traffic occupy 20% respectively.

There seem to be two elements involved in this phenomenon that people spend more on gifts than on other parts. To begin with, sometimes, the real position of gifts in our mind has less to do with its utility than its symbolic value, which represents our kindness to our friends and relatives. A good case in point now is a notable movie called Da Wan or Big Shots Funeral, directed by Xiaogang, Feng, which spreads a well-knownview——gifts are indispensable in interaction with others. Meanwhile, externally, our society is sparing no efforts to produce a brand-new concept that ones social status is associated tightly with the gifts we send to others, which can also show his or her property.

To sum up, this trend is likely to continue for quite a long time in the future. Firmly, I believe that it is advisable for departments concerned to lay down strict rules and regulations so that we can put the situation under proper control.

What is illustrated in the bar chart above clearly shows that significant changes have occur regarding the contrast between the number of students who choose academic master degree and professional master degree. According to the figures given, we can see the number of students applying professional master degree has been on a steady rise. While recent years have saw a decrease in the number of students who intend to gain academic master degree.

Some driving factors that contribute to the above-mentioned change may summarized as follows. To begin with, under the circumstance of Chinese booming domestic market, an increasing number of students who are expert in professional skills are badly needed. In addition, the development of job market on the whole cannot keep pace with the expansion of college graduates, which obliges many students to stay on campus for another two or three years to get better prepared for their career. Finally, we must admit that working pressure is another important factor.

Taking all these factors into consideration, we may predict that with the rapid development of our society, the number of students of professional master degree will keep growing in the forthcoming decade.

This line chart presents the trend of number of museums and number of people visiting museums from 2013 to 2015. From the chart, it is obvious to find out that the number of museums from 2013 to 2015 presents a trend of decrease and the number of people visiting museums from 2013 to 2015 also presents a trend of increase.

It is quite clear for us to the conclusion that the reason for this phenomenon can be attributed to the development of economy. As far as I am concerned, influences on the number of museums and number of people visiting museums by economic development mainly display in the following aspects. First and foremost, economic development results in more income for people, which in turn allows people afford the payment to visit museums. Moreover, Economic development makes museums more diversified and more abundant in quantity, which can satisfy diversified preference of people. Finally, Economic development makes government invest more on public museums, and thus make us have more chances to visit museums.

From my perspective, we should maintain the positive side of museums, and try to eliminate its negative side. Therefore, it can provide more positive influence on our daily lives.

  The Media and Famous People

In almost every form of media, including television, newspapers and magazines, a great deal of attention is paid to the personal lives of celebrities. It seems that the public cannot get enough of this kind of news. However, I believe that the media have a responsibility to present a balanced view of the world, as well as respect the lives of public figures. Therefore, I believe that the media pay too much attention to the personal lives of famous people. For people who are fascinated with the lives of public figures there are some forms of media devoted exclusively to this topic. They can satisfy their curiosity by buying fan magazines and watching TV shows devoted to entertainment news. The general media should present all types of information because people have different interests. Furthermore, the practice of dwelling on the private lives of celebrities can lead people to pay more attention to these matters than they otherwise would. Perhaps most importantly, the media should respect the privacy of every individual, including public figures. They may have chosen to be in the public eye, but that does not give the public the right to know everything about them. Moreover, many stories about celebrities are untrue; they are only gossip reported to increase sales of magazines and other media. They are unfair to the famous and mislead the public. For all of these reasons, I believe that the media should pay more attention to matters other than the private lives of public figures. In this way, they can appeal to a wider audience and encourage people to develop other interests. In my opinion, the media currently pay too much attention to the private lives of public figures.

Compared with the forty year old shabby dormitory I am living in now, the one I lived in for three years in high school was heaven: three students shared one brand new suite with air conditioners and a bathroom. In three years time we changed it thoroughly:the color of the floor turned from bright pink into muddy gray, and the closet a hive of insects proliferating among piles of rotten fruit.

And our masterpiece was the bathroom, a never drying swamp which served as the habitat of various kinds of mold, and even rodents, rats would occasionally take the trouble to pay us a visit, and.., all three of us felt like sobbing when we at last had to say good bye to our lovely filthy dormitory. Maybe it is because that the dormitory had changed us as well as wed changed it. The first lesson our dormitory taught us was to look after ourselves.

Frankly speaking, we were not good students at all. I still remember the underwear that was soaked in soapy water for one and a half years before it was finally thrown away. Almost each of the boys dormitories had gradually developed its own unique "fragrance" usually a mixture of rotten fruit, unwashed socks, stunk towels and some junk food. We could tell one dormitory from another by sniffing instead of looking. Our tolerance towards untidiness was amazing. with and paper to sign on.

This picture is really thought provoking. As is vividly shown in the above picture, a book is lying above the grass and beautiful flowers. Beside it, there is a topic thatsays:“reading”. There is no denying that the picture implies that reading is of utmost importance to us.

Considering every aspect of it, we may attribute its significance to three factors. First of all, reading can broaden our horizon, widen our knowledge and eich our experience. Besides, reading is to success what water is to a fish. It can put us in a favorable position in the job market. Last but not least, if all of us are willing to read more and extensively, our society will be more progressive and prosperous.

From what has been discussed above, we may safely draw a conclusion that reading is indispensable in our daily life. Therefore, the mass media, such as television, Internet and radio, should try best to propaganda and advocate it. As for ourselves, we should take practical actions to enhance our awareness of reading. Then, we have every reason to be convinced that we can have a bright future and a beautiful world.

This pie chart clearly illustrates the purposes of students’ touring in a certain university. As is reflected by the diagram, 37 percent of college students travel in a bid to appreciating the scenery, next comes the aim of relieving pressure, accounting for 33% percent. By contrast, the percentage of students travelling aiming at others, making friends and cultivating independence account for 15%, 9% and 6% respectively.

Several primary factors could contribute to this phenomenon. In the first place, travel can offer us a wide range of experiences. In travelling, we may join tourists marveling at the incredible power of Niagara Falls, mingle with the happy throngs strolling in the Paris boulevards and experience the bitterness and joy of people on different lands and in different times. In the second place, college students, who have to juggle academic work, romantic relationships and a busy social calendar, are particularly susceptible to pressure. By touring, they can successfully manage and reduce stress.

Taking all these factors into consideration, we may predict that with the quickening pace of campus life and ever-increasing pressure, the number of university students touring will keep growing in the forthcoming decade.

We often read in novels how a seemingly respectable person or family has some terrible secret which has been concealed from strangers for years. The English language possesses a vivid saying to describe this sort of situation. The terrible secret is called ‘a(chǎn) skeleton in the cupboard’. At some dramatic moment in the story, the terrible secret becomes known and a reputation is ruined. The readers hair stands on end when he reads in the final pages of the novel that the heroine, a dear old lady who had always been so kind to everybody, had, in her youth, poisoned every one of her five husbands.

It is all very well for such things to occur in fiction. To varying degrees, we all have secrets which we do not want even our closest friends to learn, but few of us have skeletons in the cupboard. The only person I know who has a skeleton in the cupboard is George Carlton, and he is very proud of the fact. George studied medicine in his youth. Instead of becoming a doctor, however, he became a successful writer of detective stories. I once spent an uncomfortable weekend which I shall never forget at his house. George showed me to the guest-room which, he said, was rarely used. He told me to unpack my things and then come down to dinner. After I had stacked my shirts and underclothes in two empty drawers, I decided to hang one of the two suits I had brought with me in the cupboard. I opened the cupboard door and then stood in front of it petrified. A skeleton was dangling before my eyes. The sudden movement of the door made it sway slightly and it gave me the impression that it was about to leap out at me. Dropping my suit, I dashed downstairs to tell George. This was worse than ‘a(chǎn) terrible secret’; this was a real skeleton! But George was unsympathetic. ‘Oh, that,’ he said with a smile as if he were talking about an old friend. ‘Thats Sebastian. You forget that I was a medical student once upon a time.

The cartoon presents the Earth with a personified human face that seems quite unhappy. A examination of the picture immediately reveals that the source of its mood is the air pollution resulting from a huge number of automobiles spread around its surface. The cartoon, no doubt, aims at alarming humans of the heavy load we have exerted on Earth by our insatiable production and usage of automobiles. However, the majority of people merely indulge in the celebration of the convenience brought by cars, while forgetting or simply neglecting their harmful impact on the atmosphere.

Admittedly, there are various factors contributing to the current worldwide air pollution, but it is undeniable that the exhaust from automobiles is categorized as one of the major elements. I would like to make the following proposals to solve this problem: firstly, we should apply the most cutting-edge technologies in order to adopt new forms of energy as substitutes for fossil fuels. It should also be guaranteed that the clean energy be inexpensive so that it can be widely accepted. Besides, there should be attempts to develop possible transportation means, so that citizens can be diverted from dependence on cars. In short, it is humans‘ responsibility to resume clean air for Earth.

Taking part in the classroom is not only accepted but also expected of students in many courses. Some professors base part of the final grade on the student s taking part in orally. Although there are formal lectures during which the student has a passive role (i. e. listening and taking notes), many courses are organized around classroom discussions, student questions, and informal lectures. In graduate seminars the professor has a "managing" role and the students make presentations and lead discussions. The students do the actual teaching in these seminars.

A professors teaching style is another factor that determines the degree and type of student participation. Some professors prefer to control discussion, while others prefer to guide the class without dominating it. Many professors encourage students to question and challenge their ideas. Students who make opinions that are different from the professors point of view should be prepared to support their positions.

In the teaching of science and mathematics, the dominant mode of instruction is generally traditional, with teachers presenting formal lectures and students taking notes. However, new educational trends have emerged in the humanities and social sciences in the past two decades. Students in education, sociology, and psychology classes, for example, are often required to solve problems in groups, design projects, make presentations, and examine case studies. Since some college or university courses are " practical" rather than theoretical, they stress "doing" and engagement.

What an impressive picture it is!Two young men sitting on the boat are throwing rubbish into the lake, with all kinds of garbage floating on the surface. What is conveyed in the picture is both realistic and thought-provoking.

Clearly, we can deduce from the picture that with the rapid development of economy, tourism as a form of enterprise brings China a lot of benefits, but the environment is being polluted tremendously. In public places people have no awareness that they are doing something damaging the environment, the only environment we have. They cause inconvenience and discomfort to other tourists, and also degrade Chinas image as a nation.

What can we do then? First, I think that government should issue severe regulations, punishing any behavior that damages the environment. Second, the environment protection awareness of the public should be enforced. People should know how closely the clean environment is related to their personal lives. Lets hope we will have a cleaner and more beautiful world in the near future.

  Human Activity and the Earth

There is no doubt that human activity has an effect on the planet. We see the evidence of mankinds endeavors all around us. While some of mans accomplishments, such as the building of transportation systems and the consistent supply of potable water, have made Earth a better place for people to live, they have not come without cost. Overall, it seems that human activity harms the Earth more than it benefits it. For example, the transportation systems that benefit mankind also create pollution and use up valuable energy resources. While we cannot do without transportation these days, we cannot ignore the fact that it has an adverse effect on the planet. Furthermore, those advances that benefit people do not benefit al the life on Earth. Deforestation endangers many animals, and mankinds great thirst for water and other resources leads to the extinction of many plant forms. In addition, accomplishments such as the supply of potable water to a community are only response to problems that mankind created in the past. It was man that made the water unfit to drink in the first place. Finally, the damage that human activity causes will eventually have a negative effect on people. They will also suffer the effects of pollution and diminishing natural resources. In conclusion, it seems apparent that mans activity benefits primarily himself, not the Earth. Moreover, those benefits are only short-term advantages, and man will also suffer the negative effects of his activity in the future. The Earth does not have an inexhaustible supply of resources, so every effort should be made to conserve resources and limit the impact of human activity on the planet.

People attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experiences, career preparation, increased knowledge). Why do you think people attend college or university? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

People attend colleges or universities for a lot of different reasons. Career preparation is becoming more and more important to young people. For many, this is the primary reason to go to college, They know that the job market is competitive. At college, they can learn new skill for careers with a lot of opportunities. This means careers, such as information technology, that are expected to need a large workforce in the coming years.

Also, students go to colleges and universities to have new experiences. This often means having the opportunity to meet people different from those in their hometowns. For most students, going to college is the first time they’ve been away from home by themselves. In additions, this is the first time they’ve had to make decisions on their own. Making these decisions increases their knowledge of themselves.

Besides looking for self-knowledge, people also attend a university or college to expand their knowledge in subjects they find interesting. For many, this will be their last chance for a long time to learn about something that doesn’t relate to their career.

I would recommend that people not be so focused on a career. They should go to college to have new experiences and learn about themselves and the world they live in.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parents are the best teachers. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Throughout my life, I have been lucky enough to have a very good relationship with my parents. They have supported me, given me necessary criticism, and taught me a great deal about how to live my life. Parents can be very important teachers in our lives; however, they are not always the best teachers.

Parents may be too close to their children emotionally. Sometimes they can only see their children though the eyes of a protector. For example, they may limit a childs freedom in the name of safety. A teacher might see a trip to a big city as a valuable new experience. However, it might seem too dangerous to a parent.

Another problem is that parents may expect their childrens interests to be similar to their own. They cant seem to separate from their children in their mind. If they love science, they may try to force their child to love science too. But what if their childs true love is art, or writing, or car repair?

Parents are usually eager to pass on their value to their children. But should children always believe what their parents do? Maybe different generations need different ways of thinking. When children are young, they believe that their parents are always rights. But when they get older, they realize there are other views. Sometimes parents, especially older ones, cant keep up with rapid social or technology changes. A student who has friends of all different races and backgrounds at school may find that her parents dont really understand or value the digital revolution. Sometimes kids have to find their own ways to what they believe in.

The most important thing to realize is that we all have many teachers in our lives. Our parents teach us, our teachers teach us, and our peers teach us. Books and newspapers and television also teach us. All of them are valuable.

Nowadays, food has become easier to prepare. Has this change improved the way people live? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

The twentieth century has brought with it many advances. With those advances, human lives have changed dramatically. In some ways life is worse, but mostly it is better. Changes in food preparation methods, for example, have improved our lives greatly.

The convenience of preparing food today is amazing. Even stoves have gotten too slow for us. Microwave cooking is much easier. We can press a few buttons and a meal is completely cooked in just a short time. People used to spend hours preparing an oven-cooked meal, and now they can use that time for other, better things. Plus, there are all kinds of portable, prepackaged foods we can buy. Heat them in the office microwave, and lunch at work is quick and easy.

Food preparation today allows for more variety. With refrigerators and freezers, we can preserve a lot of different foods in our homes. Since technology makes cooking so much faster, people are willing to make several dishes for even a small meal. Parents are more likely to let children be picky, now that they can easily heat them up some prepackaged macaroni and cheese on the side. Needless to say, adults living in the same house may have very different eating habits as well. If they don’t want to cook a lot of different dishes, it’s common now to eat out at restaurants several times a week.

Healthful eating is also easier than ever now. When people cook, they use new fat substitutes and cooking sprays to cut fat and calories. This reduces the risk of heart disease and high cholesterol. Additionally, we can buy fruits and vegetable fresh, frozen or canned. They are easy to prepare, so many of us eat more of those nutritious items daily.A hundred years ago, you couldn’t imagine the process of taking some frozen fruit and ice from the freezer, adding some low-fat yogurt from a plastic cup and some juice from a can in the refrigerator, and whipping up a low-fat smoothie in the blender!

Our lifestyle is fast, but people still like good food. What new food preparation technology has given us is more choices. Today, we can prepare food that is more convenient, healthier, and of greater variety than ever before in history.

It has been said, “Not every thing that is learned is contained in books.” Compare and contrast knowledge gained from experience with knowledge gained from books. In your opinion, which source is more important? Why?

“Experience is the best teacher” is an old cliché, but I agree with it. The most important, and sometimes the hardest, lessons we learn in life come from our participation in situations. You can’ learn everything from a book.

Of course, learning from books in a formal educational setting is also valuable. It’s in schools that we learn the information we need to function in our society. We learn how to speak and write and understand mathematical equations. This is all information that we need to live in our communities and earn a living.

Nevertheless, I think that the most important lessons can’t be taught; they have to be experienced. No one can teach us how to get along with others or how to have self-respect. As we grow from children into teenagers, no one can teach us how to deal with peer pressure. As we leave adolescence behind and enter adult life, no one can teach us how to fall in love and get married.

This shouldn’t stop us from looking for guidelines along the way. Teachers and parents are valuable sources of advice when we’re young. As we enter into new stages in our lives, the advice we receive from them is very helpful because they have already bad similar experiences. But experiencing our own triumphs and disasters is really the only way to learn how to deal with life.

"When people succeed, it is because of hard work, Luck has nothing to do with success." Do you agree or disagree with the quotation above? Use specific and examples to explain your position.

When people succeed, it is because of hard work, but luck has a lot to do with it,too. Success without some luck is almost impossible. The French emperor Napoleon said of one of his generals, “I know he’s good. But is he lucky?” Napoleon knew that all the hard work and talent in the world can’t make up for bad luck. However, hard work can invite good luck.

When it comes to success, luck can mean being in the right place to meet someone, or having the right skills to get a job done. It might mean turning down an offer and then having a better offer come along. Nothing can replace hard work, but working hard also means you’re preparing yourself opportunity. Opportunity very often depends on luck.

How many of the great inventions and discoveries came about through a lucky mistake or a lucky chance? One of the biggest lucky mistakes in history is Columbus’ so-called discovery of America. He enriched his sponsors and changed history, but he was really looking for India. However, Columbus’ chance discovery wasn’t pure luck. It was backed up by years of studying and calculating. He worked hard to prove his theory that the world was round.

Success that comes from pure luck and no hard work can be a real problem. For example, consider a teenage girl who becomes a movie star.

Imagine she’s been picked from nowhere because of her looks. She is going to feel very insecure, because she knows she didn’t do anything to earn her stardom. On the other hand, think about an actress who’s spend years learning and working at her craft. When she finally has good luck and becomes a success, she will handle stardom better, she knows she earns it.

People who work hard help make their own luck by being ready opportunity knocks. When it comes to success. I think that hard work and luck so hand in hand.

It is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city. Do you agree or disagree? Use specific reasons and examples to develop your essay.

There are advantages and disadvantages to a childhood in either the country or a city. Its hard to say which is better. Growing up in the country means a certain amount of isolation. Youre in a small town or on a armband not with a lot of people. Even more important, the people you meet everyday tend to be just like you. Most will be the same race as you, have the same background as you, and will have gone to the same school as you. In the city, the people you meet are different. There are different races and different cultures. You get a more interesting mix.

City people tend to come from a lot of different places and move around a lot. So, there isnt the sense of community in the city that you have in the country. People in the city can live in the same apartment building for twenty years and never get to know their neighbors. In the country, everybody knows everybody. For a child, this means the country is more secure. A child can get lost or hurt in the city and have no one to turn to. In the country, everyone’s a neighbor. People in the country feel connected to each other.

A child growing up in the city has the advantages of a lot of interesting and exciting place to visit. He or she can go to the zoo, museum, art galleries and concerts. There are a lot of restaurants with different kinds of food. It’s easy to see every new movie that comes out. Child in the country dont have a lot of these activities nearby.

All in all, I think a childhood in the city is better because it prepares you more for what real life is like.

In some countries, teenager have jobs while they are still students. Do you think this is a good idea? Support your opinion by using specific reasons and details.

I dont think it is a good ideas for teenagers to have jobs while they are still students. It can interfere with their studies, It can disrupt their home life, and it takes away part of their childhood that their can never replace.

Education today is very complex and difficult .In order to learn and get good grades, a student must work very hard and concentrate, This means attending classes from early in the morning until late afternoon, then doing research for projects, then going home and doing homework.

It’s a busy schedule for everyone. For someone trying to hold down a job, it’s even harder. Students need all their energy for their studies. If theyre working after class at night, they’re going to be tired the next day. They wont be able to concentrate. This will have a negative impact on their learning, and eventually on their grades.

Having a job can also disrupt a teenagers home life. Families spend less and less time together. If a teenager has a job to go to after school, he wont be home for dinner.

He wont be home after dinner either, and may not get home until late at night, This means he doesnt have a lot of time to spend with his family .If he doesnt have a car, it can mean changes in his parents schedule ,too. They have to drive him to work and pick him up.

The main drawback of a teenager having a job while hes still a student is that hes missing out on the fun of being young. He has a whole lifetime in which hell have to earn a living. This is the last free time hell have, It’s the last chance hell have to hang out with friends and just enjoy himself. Soon enough hell have to worry about paying the rent and buying food.

Jobs bring money, but money isnt everything. A teenager with a job gives us too much. No one should spend all his time at working, and especially not a teenager.

A person you know is planning to move to your town or city .What do you think this person would like and dislike about living in your town or city? Why? Use specific reasons and details to develop your essay.

A friend of mine from college is moving to my city, so I have been thinking about what she would and wouldnt like about it, I’d say the quality of life here, as far as fun and activities are concerned, is very good. The quality of life isnt very good, though, in other important ways.

Living in a lager city is exciting, but you pay a price for it. There are lots of interesting things to do, and good restaurants with food from around the world. There are museums, art galleries, and lots of movie theaters. However. the crime rate is high, and people have to be careful about where they go at night. Theres a lot of traffic most of the time, and finding a parking space can be a problem. There are also a lot of people living here. Sometimes it feels too crowded.

In a big city like mine, housing is very expensive. If costs a lot even if youre just renting an efficiency apartment. The good side is that theres a lot of choice about where you want to live and how you want to live. You can find apartment of all sizes in different settings. Houses of equal variety are available for sale or rent.

If my friend likes the great outdoors, she might be disappointed. Unfortunately, my city doesnt have a lot of wide open green spaces, and there arent a lot of trees on the streets. Were not near the ocean, and the mountains are a days drive from here. Still, we do have some natural areas. For example, we have a beautiful big park. It even has a lake in the middle thats used for ice skating in the winter. There’s a different kind of beauty in the city.

Thinking about it, I suppose whether my friend likes my city will depend on whether or not she likes exciting places. I hope she likes a lot of variety as far as housing and activities are concerned. If she does, then this is the place for her.

In the pictures above are a father and her beloved son. In the left cartoon, smoking a cigarette and sitting in a sofa comfortably, the father is watching a football match on TV and shouting, “Son, study hard for me!” On the contrary, in the left portrayal, at 9 p.m. , the father is studying together with his son, both totally absorbed in their books. The caption indicates, “Instead of merely making a request, setting an example.”

The purpose of the pictures is to show us that utmost significance should be attached to practicing what you preach. On the one hand, parents teach much more by their actions, than by their words. Some of them may say to their children, “don’t say nasty things about so and so”, and then the children will hear them criticize their friends and neighbors. On the other hand, parenting is such a crucial responsibility, yet there are no required courses to prepare one to undertake this role in life. The only learning is the example from one’s own parents.

To sum up, parents are the best teachers.

Obviously, if parents’ actions don’t conflict their own words, they would have the opportunity to be outstanding examples of their children. Just as an old saying goes, “Action speak louder than words.”

These two drawings, apparently, can be associated with two distinct habits. In the left one, there is a girl beside a desk, being absorbed in learning, with an idea in her mind —it is advisable to complete as early as possible. By contrast, in the right picture, a young guy sits leisurely in a sofa, telling himself, “I need not act until the deadline.” Finally, two Chinese characters can be noticed, which say “habit”.

Successful figures are usually characterized by their diverse merits, including diligence, perseverance and striving every day. However, in reality, a host of youngsters are accustomed to taking no action until the last day. This terrible habit is particularly worth concerning and as a matter of fact, their laziness has constituted an obstacle that hinders their personal growth and progress.

To my understanding, we are supposed to accomplish our assignments on time each day. This good habit can be likened to a journey, leading to success and a promising future. A case in point is myself. During the past year, as a senior who has been preparing for the national entrance examination for postgraduates, I have never postponed one day’s task until the next day. This excellent habit ensures my motivation for learning, brings me power and helps me accumulate knowledge every day.

To conclude, never put off till tomorrow what you can do today. Meanwhile, every one should bear in mind that a positive habit means a lifelong treasure.

Given is a pie chart, clearly illustrating the striking contrasts in college students’ reading purposes on mobile phones in a certain university. Overall, the aim of learning ranks the first, accounting for 58%. Then, the next is searching for information, with 28%, followed by entertainment, at 12%.

These statistics above can be associated with the importance of mobile phones in students’ learning and daily life, but what result in the differences? On the one hand, smart phones are characterized by the diverse and powerful functions, which brings them great convenience and enhance their learning efficiency. A typical example is that they, with cell phones, can take online courses and look for useful information anywhere. On the other hand, compared with others, university students suffer greater mental stress, so they relax by listening to music or watching videos on phones.

As a youngster, I believe that we should use mobile phones in a rational way. Meanwhile, it is not advisable for anyone to be addicted to online games or social networks.

For over a decade, the craze of Chinese college graduates taking qualifying examinations to become civil servants has remained unabated. An important proportion of graduates view civil service as their top priority in job selection and they spare no efforts in preparing for those examinations, sometimes years before their graduation.

To some extent, this craze is a modern revival of the ancient notion that “those who excel in academics end up in officialdom.” In the present-day China, however, there are complicated reasons underlying this phenomenon. The jobs in sectors other than civil service are insecure and unstable, and employees have to work under greater stress faced with growing competitions in the workplace and the industry. Some government departments are related to monopolized industries and civil servants can enjoy unusually high salaries and welfare benefits. Finally, government officials are usually regarded as occupying the highest rung of the social hierarchy and a student who succeeds in becoming government official is considered the pride of the family, adding prestige and glory to the entire clan.

For all the apparent attractions of the officialdom, the craze of entering the civil service is a distorted one. In the United States, truly ambitious students enter the industry instead of civil departments, where they apply their individual initiative to achieve personal success. It has already been pointed out that, with so many best minds of the nation fighting their way into the civil sectors, the consequences are catastrophic.

The civil servants system, with its inherent bureaucracy and rigid rules, would inevitably turn the otherwise energetic and aggressive young people into docile followers of their superiors’ instructions and dutiful but mediocre implementers of executive orders. This will considerably undermine the vitality of a whole generation and the competitiveness of the entire country in the international arena. All forms of craze are accompanied by elements of irrationality and abnormality and, the sooner this craze vanishes, the better.

The above two pictures have shaped sharp contrast to each other. In one picture, a flower grows in a greenhouse and is in full bloom in spite of the outside rain. But in the other, the flower, moved outside and without the protection of the greenhouse, is withering in the thunderstorm. The two pictures show us that the flower, which is raised in a greenhouse and carefully protected, cannot stand natural wind and rain at all.

It is most likely that the drawer means to compare children in our country to the flower in his drawings and reflect a problem in the present education of our children. For one thing, nowadays, most children are brought up by their parents with tender care. Parents always try their best to meet the children’s demands, to provide them with the best environment of growth and study and to protect them from any possible harms, setbacks and sufferings. For another, owing to the present examination’ oriented education system, most children are too heavily burdened with studies to have time to take part in social activities, so they learn little about the society, the real world outside their family and school. Growing up in such a manner and such an environment, the children will inevitably and naturally lack the ability to stand sufferings and overcome obstacles when they leave their parents and step into the society.

To sum up, the problem of children’s education must be solved timely and effectively because it is they that constitute the future of our country.

This is a tremendously interesting and thought-provoking picture. From the left picture, it describes a young mother holding a little girl’s hand. However, when you look at the right part of the drawing, you will see another picture which stands in marked contrast to the right part: an adult female supporting an old mother’s with her hand. As is vividly shown by the picture, the issue of the aging population in China has become a major concern around our society, which is increasingly serious.

The picture is attempting to convey a thought-provoking message.

Filial piety has been advocated as a traditional Chinese virtue throughout history. In the first place, every step of a child’s growth, from birth to death, bears so much time and energy of the parents and above all, their unselfish love. So our parents rightly deserve our reward—love, respect, care and support. Whatis more, family relationship is very much like a mirror. If you smile upon it, it will smile back upon you. By treating our parents kindly, we will set an example for our sons and daughters and gain their respect and love in return.

In a word, it is our innate obligation to be filial to our parents.

This picture is simple but significant. As is shown in the picture above, rising up his head, a young boy is holding a glorious sun with his firm hand. The caption indicates that, “ with dreams, our hearts can fly high; with flight, our dreams will not be far away.”

Why are dreams so importantWe may attribute its significance to three factors. First and foremost, dreams can give us courage and strength to overcome all the difficulties in our lives. Besides, having dreams is beneficial for us to be confident, passionate and energetic, and it may put us in a favorable position in our life journey. On the contrary, were there no dreams, our life will be dull and meaningless. Last but not least, if all of us have dreams, our society will be more vigorous and harmonious.

Considering every aspect of this positive issue, we should bear in mind that dreams are of great significance to both our society and ourselves. Therefore, the mass media, such as television, Internet and radio, should try best to propaganda and advocate it. As for ourselves, we should take practical actions to cherish our precious dreams and let them be realized. Then, we have every reason to be convinced that we can have a bright future if we have dreams.

Ecological civilization is a form of human civilization. Human technology is constantly advancing and developing, but people have forgotten that humans and ecological civilization coexist, promote each other, and coexist and blend together.

Although people didnt pay much attention to the ecological environment before, there werent as many chemical plants and commercial buildings at that time. With the changes of the times, many factories recklessly discharge toxic gases and sewage. Many developers indiscriminately develop green land, cut down trees, and build a large number of houses. So much so that the environment has been heavily polluted now.

Nowadays, living standards have improved, and every family can afford a car. Many people who work drive cars, and their homes are close to their workplaces, so they dont want to run and have to drive. Those who are far away are unwilling to take the bus and find it too crowded, let alone ride a bike. Even if they are too tired, they have to drive a car. Do you know how much exhaust a car emits in a day.

Although the development of the times and technological progress may cause harm to the ecological environment, what is more important is that humans unknowingly harm the ecological environment in their daily lives.

When my parents were young, my dad often went to the river to fetch water to drink, but now he dares not drink anymore because the water is polluted. Take the pond near my house as an example. At first, the water was very clear, but soon the water began to become turbid because everyone living nearby would dump garbage on the riverbank, and the garbage would fall into the river. But many people dont take it seriously and feel that such a little trash doesnt matter. If everyone does that, the world will become a garbage dump.

Young people nowadays are not as concerned about protecting the environment as older people. Once when I went out, I saw an old lady with gray hair and wrinkles on her face. The old lady bent over and pulled the garbage truck, occasionally stopping to pick up garbage. People passing by will cover their noses and avoid them. Some people may buy things and throw packaging bags around casually. Some people are preparing to put their garbage in the trash can, but they dont even look at it. If the garbage isnt thrown in, they dont care. The old lady pulled the car to the middle to pick up garbage, when a car happened to come from a fork in the road and brake suddenly, almost hitting the old lady. The driver didnt apologize and even cursed loudly, "How do you walk? Are you blind?" He casually threw cigarette butts and some garbage out of the car and drove away. Society belongs to everyone, and the environment also belongs to everyone. We need everyone to protect it together, and relying solely on one person is not enough. Only one person is picking up garbage, while others are making garbage, which is also a mess.

Our mother Earth, how many predecessors have decorated her, yet we are tormenting her, causing her to gradually age!

Protect the environment, start from me, and turn every uncivilized thing around me into nothing!

In todays society, slogans advocating environmental protection such as "protecting the environment, everyone has a responsibility" can be seen everywhere in parks, scenic spots, and schools. But upon careful consideration, how many people can truly achieve it?

The magical beauty of nature is well-known to all. However, as we marvel at its incredible craftsmanship, we must also deeply understand that green is the messenger of life and the cradle of human civilization. If the Earth loses its green color, humanity will have no place to stand. Contrary to our wishes, human desires are endless, and due to their ignorance, a disaster silently struck Mother Earth, leaving her devastated. However, humans still do not repent.

On the green belt of the community, looking around, it has become a "white" zone, with various plastic bags and bottles scattered on it. Some homeowners even throw a large bag of garbage directly on it because the garbage bin is too far away, and a foul odor can still be smelled from afar.

Arriving at the public restroom, the faucet was dripping with water, but the perpetrator had already disappeared; The electric light is on all day long, but no one comes to visit; Rolls of pristine white toilet paper were scattered all over the ground

Moving on to the news: Due to excessive burning of chemical fuels by humans, the global greenhouse effect is intensifying, the Antarctic ice sheet is melting significantly, and polar animals are also struggling to escape fate. The sea level in a certain area has even risen by a certain amount.

Some students may know that there is a Lop Nur on the edge of the Taklamakan Desert, which is a desirable oasis with fresh air all year round. The environment surrounded by greenery and sheltered by forests has reignited hope for life among the very few people living there. Unexpectedly, this pure land with a history of hundreds or even thousands of years has been destroyed by some ignorant people! The fire of hope has been extinguished, and the number of deaths is increasing. Also, due to some bodies not being properly disposed of, the air pollution in the forest is becoming more and more serious. Trees are falling day by day, and people can vaguely feel the pain of Lop Nur through the sun shining on the scorched land. They are reminiscing, reminiscing about the past when cattle and sheep were full of circles, with green mountains and clear waters; They are sighing, sighing at the thousands of miles of yellow sand and withered trees and branches today; They are yearning, yearning for the source of life, the root of life.

Human beings, wake up and stop being stubborn! Look at how dilapidated this world is! Lets save our Mother Earth together! The action of maintaining ecological balance and rebuilding green homes is urgent. Lets take action, starting from ourselves, starting from small things around us, planting more trees and logging less, avoiding soil erosion, eliminating white pollution, and reducing sewage discharge. We believe that one day, the scene of high mountains and clear waters, with thousands of birds singing together, will surely reappear!

In the modern era of rapid development of science and technology, environmental pollution has been ignored by people. With people indiscriminately logging and increasing factories, the fresh air of the past has disappeared, and the ozone layer has also been severely damaged. What do the signs of this species indicate? It tells us that the once vibrant hometown has become a memory under human destruction. The clear creek has turned into a foul smelling ditch, the blue sky has been stained with black smoke into a smoky yellow, and the flying plastic bags have driven away the birds. The rumbling sound of machines has replaced the singing of birds.

In the past, no matter where I went, the air was always fresh and pure, and the sunlight was also very warm, making people feel comfortable. I dont know when they changed, and the air began to become turbid, making it difficult to breathe; The sunshine is not as warm as before, it has become dazzling. The environment has been damaged by people, and the earth is covered in scars. If humans do not save face for nature, of course, nature will not give them a way out. How many hills have devoured thousands of hectares of fertile land, and how many floods have destroyed lovely homes? In fact, this is the warning that nature sends to humanity.

I cant imagine what kind of tragic situation this world will be if we continue like this? There is no grass growing on the ground, the sky is filled with dust and sand, and humans will turn into piles of bones in the midst of devilish screams. At that time, we can only say that humans once belonged to the Earth, but the Earth will never belong to humans again.

In my current hometown, the streets are littered with garbage and a foul smell fills the air; On the river, due to the excessive discharge of chemical drugs into the water, fish float to the surface; In the sky, dust permeates the sky, making it difficult for people to open their eyes. All of this is caused by peoples lack of environmental protection. If this continues, people have not yet tasted the bitter fruit of environmental destruction. All species have become extinct, and the Earth will become a dead star. It will be too late to repent at that time. Before this, humanity, take action, for our signs, for the Earth, and even for ourselves, take action, protect our homeland, so that that moment will not come, and make the tree of life on Earth evergreen.

The excessive consumption of resources and pollution of the environment by humans has weakened and sickened a robust Earth. Soil erosion, endangered species, and continuous reduction of arable land are all caused by human neglect of environmental protection. If people continue to be stubborn, they will inevitably suffer the consequences of self destruction.

We only have one Earth, which is our mother, raising us and nurturing us to become successful. Protecting it is our responsibility. Lets join hands and strive to protect the environment of our hometown. Starting from me, starting from the small things around us, protecting the environment and saving the earth we rely on for survival!

When you pass by a green belt, you will see a sign saying "Protecting the greenery is everyones responsibility". Whether in residential areas or open spaces in parks, signs such as "Do not litter" and "Do not spit or litter" can also be seen everywhere in our daily lives. These signs remind you to pay attention to the surrounding environment and protect it.

As citizens of society, what we do is not to produce garbage on a larger scale, but to minimize the production of garbage as much as possible.

Of course, protecting the environment is not just about unilaterally reducing the production of waste, but also includes water resources, land resources, and even resources that need to be cherished everywhere. Install energy-saving faucets and energy-saving lamps; We can use our rice washing water to wash vegetables, water flowers, and so on; Turn off the lights when nobody is around. Reduce the need to replace the pen holder once and minimize unnecessary waste.

According to statistics, if one ton of paper requires 17 trees and 1.2 billion people waste one piece of paper per person, approximately 6800000 trees will be destroyed; Taking disposable wooden chopsticks as an example, 45 billion pairs of disposable wooden chopsticks are consumed annually. Processing 5000 pairs of disposable wooden chopsticks consumes a 30-year-old poplar tree, and the daily production of disposable wooden chopsticks in China consumes over 100 acres of forest, totaling 36000 acres per year. "6800000" and "360000 mu" are such a huge number. Reduce the use of plastic bags and disposable lunch boxes. If these are discarded indiscriminately after use, they will cause damage to the land, affect agricultural development, and pose a threat to animal survival. And batteries should not be thrown around directly after use. According to measurements, a No. 1 battery that decays in the soil can make one square meter of land lose its value for use; A button battery can pollute 600000 liters of water, equivalent to a persons lifetime of drinking water.

Sometimes, by doing the following, we can contribute to protecting our planet.

  1、 Establish environmental protection knowledge.

  2、 Understand how to save resources. Dont waste water, dont waste food. To extract mineral resources in moderation;

  3、 Do not buy disposable chopsticks, foam lunch boxes and white pollution articles, and resist white pollution;

  4、 Establishing childrens environmental awareness from an early age, avoiding littering, and cultivating a positive environmental perspective from an early age;

  5、 Driving one less day a month, walking or cycling more, can not only reduce carbon monoxide emissions, but also exercise and enhance physical fitness;

  6、 Participate more in environmental protection activities organized by community organizations, and only by joining them can we understand the importance of environmental protection;

7、 Plant various green plants in the community or at home to beautify the environment. Such small details can play a role in protecting the environment.

  二、懂得節約資源。不浪費水,不浪費飯菜。要節制地開(kāi)采礦物資源;

  三、不買(mǎi)一次性筷子,泡沫飯盒以及白色污染物品,抵制白色污染;

  四、從小樹(shù)立孩子的環(huán)保意識,不隨手扔垃圾,使他們從小養成良好的環(huán)保觀(guān)點(diǎn);

  五、每月少開(kāi)一天汽車(chē),多步行或恰自行車(chē),這樣既能夠減少一氧化碳的排放,還能夠鍛煉身體,增強體質(zhì);

  六、多多參加社區組織的環(huán);顒(dòng),加入其中,我們才會(huì )懂得環(huán)保的重要性;

The Earth we rely on for survival was once a beautiful home, but due to the pollution caused by humans for a long time, it has caused a series of huge damage to the ecological environment of the Earth. The water level that we rely on for survival has also reached the warning line. The mother river is threatened by death, and the east-west dams are also drying up. If we continue to waste water like this, the last drop of water in Hami will be everyones tears.

The dam in my hometown used to be green. In spring, the weeping willows in the dam grew tender buds, and the grass on the ground popped out of the soil. The small river, which had been frozen by ice and snow for a whole winter, broke the tranquility. Slowly, under the impact of the river, the small river rushed forward again, and the fish in the river swam freely in the water like before. Looking at the leaves of the willows, they had formed a shape and stood upright in the center of the dam.

And now it has become a "garbage dump", with originally wide and clear water rushing in the small river; But now it has become turbid and calm like "sick", and finally "in danger" has turned into a pool of black water accompanied by sludge. They were originally covered in flowers and plants, but now, after years of human waste disposal, burying garbage, and burning garbage, they have become the garbage scene they are today.

The East Tianshan Mountains are well-known in Xinjiang, while there is no snow in the south. In my hometown, every winter, you can see crystal clear hexagonal crystals slowly falling from the sky. The bright snowflakes are like the words of nature, and the earth is singing the symphony of high destiny. The lyrics are about struggle and indomitable hometown customs. Snow is the bard of my hometown, singing the long history of my hometown with loneliness and wandering at the top of the Tianshan Mountains, The enchanting cedar stands tall forever, like an immortal guardian, silently watching the rapid changes in its hometown.

But now, wild camels, yellow sheep, and other animals are being slaughtered in large numbers, water sources are being artificially polluted, mountains and forests are being extensively cut down, grasslands are being polluted one after another, and the snow line on the Tianshan Mountains is gradually rising. In the future, the Tianshan Mountains will be a sparsely populated and boundless desert, with scorching rocks and lifeless peaks exposed to the sun. The Tianshan Mountains are crying and grieving.

Dont slaughter animals again, let the sound of birds and the fragrance of flowers reappear here; Dont cut down trees again, let this place be green forever; Dont pollute the water source again, make this place clear as before; We must protect the environment, not let our hometown cry, work together for the balance of the ecological environment, for the beauty of our hometown, and for the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature! Lets join hands and build our hometown into a beautiful and truly fragrant oasis.

Earth, this water blue planet world draped in a white veil, is the only home that we humans rely on for survival. But as humans, we have been extensively damaging the ecological environment of the Earth for the sake of resource development.

Water is the milk of Mother Earth, the source of life, and a good friend of humans and animals... Everywhere in the world, there is water, streams, rivers, rivers, seawater, the vast Yangtze River, the rippling Baotu Spring, the colorful East China Sea, and so on. However, many clear and magnificent waters no longer exist. Why? Because of human destruction of nature! Water is one of the victims. According to statistics, all small factories in a factory area can discharge approximately 800-1000 tons of wastewater per day, which is a surprising number. Many sewage pipes are connected to streams and rivers, and sewage is directly discharged into clear rivers through these pipes. The harmful substances in the wastewater and the chemical synthesis elements of humans can greatly harm the fish in the water, causing them to be poisoned or even die! At the same time, humans throw foul smelling garbage into rivers, lakes, and seas everywhere. Many marine creatures treat garbage bags as delicious food, but once they swallow plastic bags, their esophagus will be blocked, making them unable to eat and ultimately having to accept the fate of passing away.

Air is an essential element in human life. Without air, there would be no humans, no animals or plants in the world. But now, the air is being eroded and polluted bit by bit. Who is the main culprit? Yes, its human. Fire, industry, transportation, and oil smoke emissions all pollute the fresh and sweet air, turning it into harmful air. If humans inhale harmful air into their bodies, it can cause various diseases. And it will also affect the animals, so we humans can only suffer on our own.

So, lets call on all humanity to protect the ecological environment! Human beings belong to nature, but nature does not belong to humans. Nature is the true and rightful ruler of this world. We cannot harm nature. Water, we must protect it, love it, and never let a drop of sewage flow into the once poetic, clean and pure river. We must not let animals who rely on water as their home be disturbed. We also need to save water and not let water alone cry silently. Air, we also need to cherish it. Take care of it like you treat your own child, the air will be destroyed, and humanity will eventually come to an end. Lets stop polluting the air, protect it, purify it, and use the technology that makes humans proud now to govern it! Let nature and technology become the kings of the world at the same time, and make Earth the most beautiful planet in the universe!

Protecting the environment, starting from every drop around us.

Environmental protection is a topic of global concern, and in recent years it has become a hot topic! Nowadays, it is related to our livelihood! It calls on every person on Earth to cherish their living environment and benefit future generations. Environmental protection starts from around us, from the hours around us!

When I was a child, I often saw blue skies and white clouds, filled with stars. When I was a child, the lake water was clear and transparent, with green trees providing shade. When I was a child, my clothes could be cleaned with just a wooden stick. When I was a child, I could eat all kinds of grains and grains with a delicious taste, and my body could still thrive.

When I was a child, I could smell the pungent smell of soil after the rain in the countryside. When I was a child, the weather was so regular, warm in winter and cool in summer. I miss my childhood so much, I miss that pure living environment so much.

But now everything has changed, and we must pay attention to the necessity of environmental protection. It is related to our living environment and whether our descendants can have a better living environment.

Now we have a clearer understanding of the significance of environmental protection, which is to better protect our planet from wanton destruction and uncontrolled use.

Every plant and tree in nature is closely related to us, and their destruction can also affect our human health and the changes in our living environment. Human beings should learn to coexist harmoniously with living beings, rather than arbitrarily logging and bullying them.

The resources of nature are not continuous, and we cannot overdevelop, overgraze, or open up wastelands. We must use them in moderation. In recent decades, the reduction of forest area in tropical countries has been very serious. At the current rate of forest area reduction, in 40 years, some Southeast Asian countries will never see a tree again.

Due to urbanization, agricultural development, deforestation, and environmental pollution, natural areas have become increasingly small, leading to the extinction of species. The extinction of species is highly likely to cause epidemics. Freshwater resources are also under threat, and water resources are becoming increasingly scarce. Due to overfishing, the fishery resources in the ocean are decreasing at a terrifying rate.

If we dont work together to protect the environment, we may lose the Earth we rely on for survival in a few years. Before its too late, lets start with our small things and try our best to do things within our capabilities, so that our children and descendants can also see the same blue sky and white clouds, so that they can also see such green mountains and waters! Everyone has a responsibility to protect the environment. We only have this kind of Earth. If we dont have this Earth in a few years, where can we go in the vast interstellar space? As long as we can start from small things, work together to protect our home, and let our planet, which we live on, come back to life. Only then can we survive here and live up to our future generations!

While utilizing the natural resources on Earth, humans also discharge a large amount of waste, causing serious damage to the ecological environment and turning the Earth into a "garbage ball". What should we do? People began to reflect.

In order to protect the Earth we rely on for survival and make our homes more beautiful, people must do this: sort and recycle garbage.

Many of the waste in our lives can be utilized as resources in other settings. Garbage classification and recycling can turn waste into treasure. The recycling and utilization of waste paper, plastic, glass, and metal can all become valuable resources, reduce environmental pollution, and alleviate the pressure of garbage treatment. For example, white garbage - foam and plastic bags can become oil after treatment; Waste batteries can extract valuable metals; Waste paper can be used to produce recycled paper; Waste glass can be used to remanufacture glass; Fruit peels, vegetable residues, etc. can be used to make good organic fertilizers

In order to make Guangzhou more beautiful, garbage sorting requires everyone to participate together. But now many citizens are not very familiar with what garbage classification is, why it is necessary, and what benefits garbage classification has. I suggest that the government and various social forces must also strengthen their publicity and education efforts, such as distributing a booklet on garbage classification to each household, which lists the detailed classification of garbage. For example, waste paper, plastic, glass, metal, etc. are recyclable waste; Fruit peels, vegetable residues, etc. are organic waste; Waste batteries, lamps, etc. are hazardous waste. In this way, not only can it enhance the environmental awareness of citizens, but it can also make it clear to everyone how to classify garbage at a glance. In addition, one can also enter the community for publicity and education, implement garbage classification in households, and establish household records related to garbage classification; Organize community garbage classification training; Organize citizens to visit "Garbage and Environment Exhibition", garbage sorting stations and landfills, and experience firsthand the harm that garbage causes to the environment; Organize more environmental volunteers to the community to promote garbage classification, publish a series of advertising posters on garbage classification, and hold garbage classification exhibitions; Through primary and secondary education, let children drive families; Organize media to track and report on units and communities that have done well in garbage classification, and provide publicity and encouragement to families and individuals who have done well in garbage classification; At the same time, it is also possible to consider using incentive mechanisms to encourage citizens to carry out garbage sorting. For example, the German government has adopted methods such as giving garbage bags to citizens to stimulate and ensure peoples initiative in garbage classification.

If everyone can have more environmental awareness when throwing garbage, then the whole society can be less troubled by garbage. Lets all take action and participate in the activity of garbage sorting and recycling!

Life becomes wonderful because of you. To make life more exciting, we must cherish it. We should advocate cherishing life and building civilization. Make our city more beautiful.

My hometown is a Class A open city located in Anshun City, Guizhou Province.

This place has rich historical and cultural heritage, with colorful and diverse urban buildings. It is the birthplace of Qianzhong culture, leaving behind many characteristics of local ethnic culture. However, in recent years, due to peoples poor environmental awareness, it has caused a large amount of environmental pollution. There is also extensive deforestation by humans, leading to the occurrence of mudslides, massive discharge of sewage and exhaust gases, and serious damage to various ecological environments.

Anshun also includes Puding County, Xixiu District, Pingba County, Ziyun Miao and Buyi Autonomous County, Zhenning Buyi and Miao Autonomous County, and Guanling Buyi and Miao Autonomous County. But there are still some issues with the environment in these places.

For example, the Chuancheng River in Zhenning, with its shallow and dark water, makes people feel an inexplicable sadness lurking deep in their hearts. Chuancheng River, Chuancheng River. Over the years, you have raised generations of children in Zhenning. You silently contribute everything to your life. Without you, peoples lives would be like without sunshine: without you, people would be like babies leaving their mothers. Are you flowing towards the sea or the yellow soil day by day? In the past, regardless of spring, summer, autumn, or winter, there were always people washing clothes, washing faces, and playing by the river. But now that everything is gone, where are you flowing day by day? You are distressed that you cant hear the childrens laughter. No one comes here to play anymore, and now this place is lifeless

The great power bestowed upon people by nature has disappeared like this! I shouted loudly, "Who, who destroyed this great power!"

Our living environment is very poor now, and we need everyone to work together to improve it. Lets protect this beautiful world together! As an ordinary middle school student now, one should take some measures to protect the environment. For example, do not spit everywhere, do not litter the fruit peel, and do not discharge sewage. In short, we should start with small things and the small things around us. I think if everyone consciously protects the environment, wont the city we live in and the home we rely on for survival become better? Protecting the environment is also a symbol of the 2008 Green Olympics. Lets unite and work together to protect the environment, and become a small environmental advocate. Everyone contributes to the "Green Olympics" to the best of their ability. One sentence: "It is everyones responsibility to protect the environment, cherish life, and protect the environment."

Lets work together and believe that in the near future, we can see a city full of greenery!

Nowadays, "environmental protection" seems to have become a very popular topic. Whether in cities or rural areas, we can see various warning signs calling for people to protect the environment; There are countless columns, reports, and advertisements on this topic on television and newspapers; With just a click on this topic on the internet, there is a lot of response... People seem to be in favor of protecting the environment and giving the earth a fresh face, but environmental protection cannot be achieved with just a word or action.

"Protecting the environment, starting from me" is a well-known classic environmental term, but how to "start from me"? Perhaps at the beginning, we may adhere to ourselves for the sake of a better home, but when people around us do not do so and instead mock our own "immaturity", and it seems difficult for us to immediately see that because of our good behavior, the surrounding environment becomes beautiful and moving, a persons "persevering" heart begins to be confused, and there is a voice questioning in their heart: is it useful? As this idea grows, how many people still dont go back to their old "habits"? Yes, its "habit".

People have become accustomed to using fast cars instead of walking, using lightweight and convenient plastic shopping bags instead of cloth bags, and using clean and inexpensive disposable tableware to eliminate the hassle of washing after meals... We have become accustomed to the various conveniences and benefits that modern life brings us, and we are no longer willing to return to the life of "working at sunrise and resting at sunset"; We are accustomed to the flickering neon lights at night, forgetting the peaceful moonlight in the lotus pond under the moon... These complex and intertwined modern "convenient" lifestyles have also brought great troubles to the environment.

Of course, there are also many people who are willing to devote themselves to the cause of environmental protection, such as Zhang Zhengxiang, who is chilling, lonely, and stubborn, and known as the "madman" in peoples eyes. Faced with the greedy, ignorant, and brutal environmental disruptors of Dianchi Lake, he bravely tied his life and the fate of Dianchi Lake tightly together, and with his indomitable persistence, he closed down 33 large and medium-sized mining, quarrying, and soil collection points in the Dianchi Nature Reserve.

And Wang Chengji, a farmer with only elementary school education, has transformed 3700 acres of barren mountains into a famous willow ditch with trees and water, thanks to his perseverance, indestructible courage, and perseverance. In our lives, there are still many people who want to do so, but environmental protection is definitely not a matter of two people, it is the responsibility of all of us humans. Perhaps we may not achieve the results of Zhang Zhengxiang and Wang Chengji, but as long as each of us takes good care of the environment, I believe that the earth will become increasingly pure and beautiful.

As is portrayed in the picture, a boiling hotpot contains various forms of both domestic and alien cultures. The hodgepodge could be categorized as a mixture of literature, moral values and performing arts. It reveals to us that our modern culture is netplicated and diverse.

I cannot help relating this picture to reality and wondering why this happened in reality. For one thing, the globalization has made it possible that the cultures from all over the world can meet and mix together and we can enjoy the benefits of alien cultures without going abroad. For another, the harmonious coexistence between the traditions and modern cultures gives us a rich identity and spiritual wealth.

What is right attitude we should take toward the phenomenon? First of all, we should get lost in face of the diverse cultures and values. We must remember we must preserve our own national and local cultures in which we take root. Secondly, in the mixture of cultures and values we must learn to distinguish the good from the harmful. We should absorb the nutritious good cultures and values but at the same time we must defend ourselves against the danger of being polluted by the bad cultures and values.

Many people appreciate the conveniences of the city. The city offers a wide choice of jobs for adults and schools for children. It also provides plenty of facilities for culture, entertainment and recreationrestaurants, department, stores, cinemas, and so on. Besides, transportation is usually well developed in the city, with a variety of modes of travel, including buses, trains and subways.

In the country, on the other hand, one can enjoy the advantages of fresh air and food, and a more relaxed life style. Housing is usually spacious and inexpensive in the country. And, as for recreation, what could be more relaxing than a stroll down a country lane amid beautiful scenery? However there are advantages to living in either the city or the country. City air tends to be polluted, and the streets are always crowded and noisy. In the country, on the other hand, the lack of stimulating activities can make a person feel bored and isolated.

All in all, I would say that living in the city is best, for the convenience the city offers in terms of education and work; after all, one can always spend vacations in the countryand get the best of both.

Bacteria are etremely small living things. while we measure our own sizes in inches or centimeters, bacterial size is measured in microns. one micron is a thousandth of a millimeter: a pinhead is about a millimeter across. rod-shaped bacteria are usually from two to four microns long, while rounded ones are generally one micron in diameter. thus if you enlarged a rounded bacterium a thousand times, it would be just about the size of a pinhead. an adult human magnified by the same amount would be over a mile(1.6 kilometer) tall.

Even with an ordinary microscope, you must look closely to see bacteria. using a magnification of 100 times, one finds that bacteria are barely visible as tiny rods or dots. one cannot make out anything of their structure. using special stains, one can see that some bacteria have attached to them wavy-looking "hairs" called flagella. others have only one flagellum. the flagella rotate, pushing the bacteria through the water. many bacteria lack flagella and cannot move about by their own power, while others can glide along over surfaces by some little-understood mechanism.

From the bacteria point of view, the world is a very different place from what it is to humans. to a bacterium water is as thick as molasses is to us. bacteria are so small that they are influenced by the movements of the chemical molecules around them. bacteria under the microscope, even those with no flagella, often bounce about in the water. this is because they collide with the watery molecules and are pushed this way and that. molecules move so rapidly that within a tenth of a second the molecules around a bacteria have all been replaced by new ones; even bacteria without flagella are thus constantly eposed to a changing environment.

In the picture, there shapes a sharp conflict between the goal keeper and the ball player. The former exaggerates the goal and minimizes himself in his mind while the latter thinks otherwise. Actually, both the goal and the keeper are just in normal size. What causes the problem is that they have overestimated the difficulty they are each faced with. Such attitude towards difficulty will surely produce negative effects on the results.

Difficulties are in the pathway of everyone. To overcome them, we must at first make correct judgment on the situation, which is based on confidence, courage and rational thinking. Lets take memory for example. In the process of learning, students need to remember a lot of things, such as Chemical Elements Periodic Table, ancient articles and mathematical formulae. But many complain that it is hard to remember them accurately and they are ready to give up when they feel so. On the contrary, those who learn successfully are confident about themselves and willing to try although they also feel difficult at first. And later they find the more they practise the memory, the easier it becomes to remember.

In conclusion, if we are to succeed in handling the difficult things, we must have self confidence, judge the situation rationally and be courageous enough to keep trying.

The Influence of Television and Movies

There is no doubt that watching television and movies can influence the way that people behave. Moreover, it seems that people are spending more and more time watching some sort of visual entertainment, whether it is television, a video tape or a DVD. Therefore, the effects of visual media cannot be ignored. One obvious effect of the these media is that watching them induces people to buy certain products. television advertising is widespread and, nowadays, even movie theaters permit advertisements. Another way TV and the movies affect people is that they give people either a broader view of the world or a distorted one, depending on what type of program they watch. Those who watch news and educational program can learn many new things while those who watch primarily entertainment shows may come to believe that most people in the world possess great wealth and good looks. It may make them become dissatisfied with their own lives. Finally, perhaps the most susceptible viewers are children, who may be unable to tell fact from fiction and may try to imitate acts that they see on TV or in the movies.

With the every-increasing popularity of video entertainment, society must pay attention to these effects. Television and movies, while entertaining and informative, cannot take the place of real experience.

Green environmental protection is advocated now, but there are still many places where garbage can be seen. Every time I see a lot of garbage on the ground, I feel very uncomfortable. Although I dont have the habit of picking up the garbage on the ground when I see the garbage, I can ensure that I dont litter. For example, when I go out with garbage, I always throw the garbage can. If I dont see the garbage can, Ill let it go or throw it directly in my pocket. When there is garbage, Ill take out the garbage and throw it away.

Its really bad to litter. The ground looks dirty and unsanitary, which also affects the beauty and mood. In particular, those who throw cigarette butts everywhere are really annoying. They always smoke in the public headquarters and dont put out the cigarette butts after smoking. They just throw them away. Im really speechless. Its not that I dont know anything. Now some little children are more sensible than those big children. It is everyones responsibility to know how to throw garbage into the trash can and protect the environment.

Protect the environment, start with me, start with small things!

From this cartoon, we can see that at the top end of the river,is a chemical factory and a paperrnaking factory which send out and poisonous wastes. And the river has been seriously polluted,n be seen from the color of it. Along this "black" river, there are a few people selling fresh water which must have been taken from far away places.

At the first glance, it is very strange to us how can people sell water along the river, but this is the case, because the water in this river is undrinkable. This presents a serious social problem--environmental pollution. With the development of economy, our living standards have been greatly improved. But we can‘ t ignore the fact the air we take in and the water we drink today are not as fresh and clean as they used to be. Some kinds of pollution can even be deadly to people. It is high time that we took some measures to solve the problem.

I think we can first call people‘s attention to this problem so that they will be aware of the serious consequences of it. Then,we can pass certain laws to restrain the factories from sending out wastes. Finally, we can do more resarch work to find out ways to deal with the wastes.

Today the quality of our natural environment has become an important issue. The world population is rising so quickly that the world has become too crowded. We are using up our natural resources and at the same time polluting our environment with dangerous chemicals. If we continue to do this, life on earth cannot survive.

Concerned people have made some progress in environmental protection. Governments of many countries have established laws to protect the air, forests and sea resources and to stop environmental pollution.

Still more measures should be taken to solve environmental problems. People should be further educated to recognize the importance of the problems, to use modern methods of birth control, to conserve(保存) our natural resources and recycle our products. We are sure that we can have a better and cleaner place in the future.

There is a lot of leftover trash in the street where you sell snacks, disposable plastic bags, disposable chopsticks, soup, etc. The air could smell a lot of foul odour, and the environment was miasma.

Rubbish is not only dirty, but also harmful to the human body. It is home to flies, mice and harmful bacteria. Garbage can be a hassle, and if its buried in the soil for hundreds of years, it cant be broken down, it stinks, and it pollutes the air.

I suggest you do the following: 1. Dont spit everywhere. Go out for dinner and bring your own chopsticks. Because disposable chopsticks are made from wood. Buy vegetables in your own bag.
