2016年國際和平日主題「克勝冷漠，贏(yíng)得和平」
敘利亞內戰、美國紐約恐襲、伊拉克爆炸……我們距離真正的和平到底有多遠?9月21日，是聯(lián)合國設立的國際和平日，今年是第35個(gè)。全球目前仍有30多個(gè)國家和地區陷入戰爭，無(wú)辜平民成為最大受害者。
2016年國際和平日紀念活動(dòng)將于20日至22日在銀川舉行。紀念活動(dòng)由中國人民爭取和平與裁軍協(xié)會(huì )、聯(lián)合國駐華系統及寧夏自治區人民政府聯(lián)合舉辦，主題為“人民期盼可持續和平與發(fā)展”。屆時(shí)，來(lái)自33個(gè)國家政要、前政要、非政府組織和智庫的70余名代表及部分中方專(zhuān)家學(xué)者與會(huì )。
聯(lián)合國將每年9月21日設立為“國際和平日”，以廣泛傳播和平理念，號召全世界維護和平、反對戰爭。作為中國最大的民間和平團體，中國人民爭取和平與裁軍協(xié)會(huì )已連續多年舉辦各類(lèi)紀念活動(dòng)。

Every year on the International Day of Peace, the United Nations calls on warring parties to lay down their arms and observe a 24-hour global ceasefire. The symbolism of a day without fighting is a crucial reminder that conflict can and must come to an end.
每年在國際和平日這一天，聯(lián)合國呼吁交戰各方放下武器，遵守24小時(shí)全球�；�。一天無(wú)戰事的象征意義在于向人們發(fā)出重要提示：沖突能夠而且必須終止。
But peace is about much more than putting weapons aside. It is about building a global society in which people live free from poverty and share the benefits of prosperity. It is about growing together and supporting each other as a universal family.
但和平不只關(guān)乎放下武器，而是要建立一個(gè)人人免受貧窮并分享繁榮成果的全球社會(huì )。和平是要世界大家庭一起成長(cháng)，相互支持。
The theme of this year’s Peace Day highlights the 17 Sustainable Development Goals– theSDGs– as Building Blocks for Peace. Conflict often starts when people compete over limited resources. The2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is our blueprint to prevent such conflicts from arising by making sure no one is left behind.
今年和平日的主題突出強調17項可持續發(fā)展目標作為構建和平的重要基石。沖突常常源于人們爭奪有限資源�！�2030年可持續發(fā)展議程》為我們確保不讓任何一個(gè)人掉隊，從而防止發(fā)生此類(lèi)沖突描繪了藍圖。
When the 193 Member States of the United Nations unanimously adopted the 17 Sustainable Development Goalslast September, their message was clear.
去年9月，聯(lián)合國193個(gè)會(huì )員國一致通過(guò)了17項可持續發(fā)展目標，以此傳遞了明確的信息。
Sustainable development is essential for lasting peace, and both depend on respect for human rights. We need to protect our planet. And only by working together can we make our common home safe for future generations.
可持續發(fā)展對實(shí)現持久和平至關(guān)重要，兩者均依賴(lài)于對人權的尊重。我們需要保護我們的地球。只有通過(guò)合作，才能為我們的子孫后代留下一個(gè)安全的共同家園。
All of us can be sustainable development advocates and spread the word about the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs. And we can all hold our governments to account for keeping their pledge to the future.
我們每一個(gè)人都可以成為可持續發(fā)展的倡導者，宣傳《2030年議程》和可持續發(fā)展目標。我們都可以要求我們的政府信守對未來(lái)的承諾。
Let us all work together to help all human beings achieve dignity and equality; to build a greener planet; and to make sure no one is left behind.
讓我們共同努力，幫助全人類(lèi)實(shí)現尊嚴和平等;構建更加綠色的地球;確保不讓任何一個(gè)人掉隊。
