陳豪在北京的ABC美國公司工作，他興沖沖地打電話(huà)給美國同事Amy。
A：Good Afternoon, this is Amy.
C：你好，Amy, 我是陳豪，你現在有幾分鐘的時(shí)間嗎？
A：Yes. I was just about to start a new project, but it can wait.
C：我有好消息告訴你。
A：What is it?
C：我升職了，要到銷(xiāo)售部去。
A：Oh, Thats wonderful. Tell me about it.
C：我的上司覺(jué)得我到公司以來(lái)，社交能力大有長(cháng)進(jìn)，所以決定把我調到銷(xiāo)售部去。
A：How do you feel about that?
C：當然高興了，不過(guò)也有點(diǎn)緊張。
A：I agree that it is always a bit scary when you start a totally new job, working with people and processes that you dont know.
C：Amy, 我想一上來(lái)就讓他們對我刮目相看，你能不能告訴我，應該怎么做��？
A：First of all, I would be careful about how Id impress them.
C：你這話(huà)是什么意思��？我得讓他們看看，我非常了解銷(xiāo)售部的作業(yè)流程。這樣他們才會(huì )覺(jué)得我是合適的人選。
A：My advice to you is to go slowly at first. Understand that there may be people in that department who think they should have gotten the job instead of you.
C：對呀，那我怎么做才既能讓別人覺(jué)得我確實(shí)很有能力，又不得罪人呢？
A：Ask intelligent questions about projects and processes. Let your co-workers share their knowledge and experience with you.
C：可如果我問(wèn)一大堆問(wèn)題，別人會(huì )不會(huì )覺(jué)得我不勝任呢？
A：Not at all. Listening to other people is the best way to learn what you dont know and how to do your job well. The other benefit is that you will get to know your colleagues.
C：好了，我不能再耽誤你時(shí)間了，過(guò)幾天有問(wèn)題我再來(lái)向你咨詢(xún)。
A：That sounds good.

A：How do you like your new job?
C：挺好的，我適應得很快。同事們也都很幫忙。

A：The best way to deal with those people is to tell them that you feel you need to spend your time learning your job.

Colleague A: My name is Wang Liang. I'm from Beijing. Where do you come from?
同事甲：我叫王靚。來(lái)自北京。你是哪里的？
Colleague B: I come from the city of Tangshan in Hebei province.
同事乙：我來(lái)自河北省唐山市。
Colleague A: You're from Tangshan? I can't believe my ears! I was also born in Tangshan, but I was brought up in Beijing.
同事甲：你是唐山人？我真不敢相信我的耳朵！我也是在唐山出生的，不過(guò)是在北京長(cháng)大的'。
Colleague B: Really? It's nice to meet you. How long have you been with this company?
同事乙：真的��？見(jiàn)到你真高興。你在這公司干多久了？
Colleague A: Just over 4 years now. Since this is your first day here, I'm sure you don't really know too much yet. Let me showyou around. so you can introduce yourself to everyone.
