老美喜歡說(shuō)You’ll run into it! 意思就是，你會(huì )遇到的。You can’t miss it! 就是說(shuō)，你絕不會(huì )錯過(guò)的。
9. The post office is just right across the street of it.
郵局就在Wal Mart的正對面。
Right across the street of it 是個(gè)很重要的短語(yǔ)，加上"right" across 表示出"正" 對面的意思。還有一個(gè)很常用的就是在什么什么的旁邊，這個(gè)要用The office is next to it. It 代表之前已經(jīng)提過(guò)的Wal Mart，如果之前沒(méi)有提及，這里也可以直接說(shuō)成，across the street of Wal Mart。

11. Take the one-way street.
走這條單行道。
One-way street就是單行道。尤其在Downtown地區，以亞特蘭大和紐奧良為例，其復雜的程度可以用進(jìn)的去，出不來(lái)來(lái)形容，實(shí)在不是個(gè)愉快的開(kāi)車(chē)經(jīng)驗。
12. You will stay on the street for a while until you hit the first traffic light.
你會(huì )走一會(huì )兒，直到你遇到第一個(gè)紅綠燈。
Stay for a while 通常指五到十分鐘的時(shí)間，不會(huì )太久。遇見(jiàn)某樣東西，可以用hit 這個(gè)字，如hit the traffic light, hit the stop sign 等等。而traffic light 也有人說(shuō)成light，或stoplight。
13. Then take a left.
向左轉。
向左轉可以說(shuō)成turn left，take a left 或是Make a left。有時(shí)光講take a left 不明確，你可以加上路名，明確地告訴人家要轉哪一條路，例如Take a left into Hemphill Ave�；蚴荰ake a left onto Hemphill Ave。
14. It will be Hemphill Ave. It’s two-lane traffic.
那就會(huì )是Hemphill Ave，它是一條雙線(xiàn)道。
指路的時(shí)候如果能夠說(shuō)出街道名稱(chēng)是最好，所以通常我會(huì )把轉到哪一條路的路名也指出來(lái)。至于是幾線(xiàn)道一般指路的時(shí)候則比較不會(huì )提及。雙線(xiàn)道是指來(lái)去各一個(gè)車(chē)道共二線(xiàn)道而言，四線(xiàn)道就是four-lane traffic。像亞特蘭大的Interstate Highway 有些地方都是十二線(xiàn)道，那就是twelve-lane traffic 夠驚人吧。
15. Come down Hemphill Ave about five blocks.
由Hemphill 街往下走約五個(gè)街區。
英文這個(gè)部份跟中文有異曲同工之妙，我們會(huì )習慣地說(shuō)，往"下" 走，英文也會(huì )說(shuō)come "down" 或是get "down"，這里如果只說(shuō)Come Hemphill Ave聽(tīng)來(lái)是不是怪怪的?至于block 指的是一塊一塊的建筑，外國人在指路時(shí)很喜歡用block 作為計量的單位。
16. Loosen up! It's not worth getting upset about.
放松點(diǎn)兒!不值得為這件事苦惱。
