ACT英語(yǔ)標點(diǎn)符號的誤選原因

一、不細致，想當然
同學(xué)們在做題時(shí)，往往忽略了審題環(huán)節，僅憑自己的直覺(jué)，想當然地選了一個(gè)錯誤答案。粗心大意是ACT英語(yǔ)考試失分的一大原因。如:
I found an expensive, long, turquoise prom dress on the discountrank.
A. NO CHANGE
B. expensive long turquoise prom dress
C. expensive long, turquoise prom dress
D. expensive, long, turquoise, prom dress
第一次做這個(gè)題目，部分同學(xué)會(huì )想當然地選擇D。但是我們仔細審題過(guò)后會(huì )發(fā)現，D是錯誤的。逗號的使用規則的確是規定了逗號可以用來(lái)斷開(kāi)一系列的事物，但是對于這個(gè)“一系列的事物”也有明確的規定，它們必須是同一詞性、同一結構的事物。而在這個(gè)句子中expensive,long,turquoise是形容詞，但是prom是名詞。所以正確答案應該是A。
二、忽略句子結構，單純生搬硬套
大多數情況下，標點(diǎn)符號題更多考的還是句子結構。鎖定句子主干才是真正的解題關(guān)鍵。如：
For almost two millennia, the yew anevergreen tree with a poisonous fruit and a twisted trunk, was scorned orfeared by many people, particularly Europeans.
A. NO CHANGE
B. yew, an evergreen tree, with a poisonous fruit
C. yew, an evergreen tree with a poisonous fruit
D. yew an evergreen tree with a poisonous fruit,
同學(xué)們看到題目之后會(huì )覺(jué)得一頭霧水，不知道該從何處入手。其實(shí)做這類(lèi)題目的關(guān)鍵就是鎖定句子主干。
Foralmost two millennia, the yew an evergreen tree with a poisonous fruitand a twisted trunk, was scorned or feared by many people, particularlyEuropeans.
這樣我們就能很清楚地看出 an evergreen tree with a poisonous fruit and a twisted trunk 是 the yew的同位語(yǔ)。所以正確答案是C。
三、只刷題，不歸納
部分同學(xué)做題只注重“量”，卻忽略了“質(zhì)”。一味地埋頭刷題，從未靜心歸納，以致于同一個(gè)知識點(diǎn)一錯再錯。
The seven-year-oldlooked away from me when he lied reinforcing my suspicions.
A. NO CHANGE
B. when he, liedreinforcing my suspicions.
C. when he lied,reinforcing my suspicions.
D. when he lied;reinforcing my suspicions
The morning sunshining through wind-whipped branches creates an odd effect in theartist’s studio.
A. NO CHANGE

以上兩道題看上去都是考的都是動(dòng)名詞，但是兩者之間有著(zhù)“質(zhì)”的不同。
第一題中的動(dòng)名詞reinforcing my suspicions是狀語(yǔ)，修飾的是前面整個(gè)句子，所以選C。第二題中動(dòng)名詞是定語(yǔ)，修飾The morning sun，所以選A。
由此可見(jiàn)，我們要學(xué)會(huì )歸納，分析錯誤的原因，仔細對比題與題之間的聯(lián)系和區別，這樣我們才能真正做到舉一反三。
