個(gè)人數據：
申請人姓名：拼寫(xiě)方式和書(shū)寫(xiě)形式應始終保持一致、相同；標明姓氏；與護照、戶(hù)口簿上的姓名相同一致。
出生日期：按擬去國的歷法習慣順序排列。如：MM/DD/YY OR DD/MM/YY
通訊地址：能保證你能及時(shí)收到來(lái)信的準確地址。能將自己通訊地址的中文標簽寄給對方使用為最好。
公民身份和簽發(fā)護照的國家：CHINESE、P. R. CHINA
受教育近況：
1）所學(xué)專(zhuān)業(yè)及學(xué)歷
2）畢業(yè)院系
3）院校所在地
工作情況：目前工作單位及所從事的專(zhuān)業(yè)工作。
留學(xué)計劃：盡可能簡(jiǎn)單扼要地說(shuō)明你想學(xué)習的課程及打算開(kāi)始學(xué)習的日期.如擬攻讀研究生課程的應該簡(jiǎn)單扼要地說(shuō)明自己感興趣的研究領(lǐng)域或第二志愿研究領(lǐng)域。
經(jīng)費來(lái)源：說(shuō)明自己的'留學(xué)資金來(lái)源或數額。如擬向對方學(xué)校提出獎學(xué)金申請，應明確表明并索取有關(guān)獎學(xué)金資料和申請表格。
外語(yǔ)水平：告之對方你的外語(yǔ)水平情況，如IELTS、TOEFL、GRE、GMAT等成績(jì)包括考試日期、考號等。
與國外學(xué)校通信時(shí)應注意的其它事項：
*拼寫(xiě)準確、語(yǔ)法正確、格式規范、卷面整潔。
*語(yǔ)體得當、內容詳實(shí)、言簡(jiǎn)意賅、不失自尊。
*最好一律用計算機書(shū)寫(xiě)打印。

除了學(xué)習成績(jì)和外語(yǔ)水平以外，推薦信是國外學(xué)校了解學(xué)生的重要依據之一，在研究生課程中尤其如此。國外高等院校不僅注意申請人的考試成績(jì)，也很注意申請人在學(xué)習和專(zhuān)業(yè)工作中反映出來(lái)的多方面的特點(diǎn)，這在很大程度上要依賴(lài)于推薦信。
推薦信要盡量避免使用那些對人人都適用的評語(yǔ)，而應力求反映一個(gè)學(xué)生的特點(diǎn)。例如，在專(zhuān)業(yè)領(lǐng)域中遇到難題時(shí)的意志和動(dòng)力、創(chuàng )新精神和求知欲、對新事物的反應能力、對陌生事物或環(huán)境的適應能力、人際溝通與處理人際關(guān)系的能力、領(lǐng)導才能、事業(yè)心與責任感、課堂講授還或科研工作中表現出來(lái)的特長(cháng)或弱點(diǎn)，等等。
*學(xué)生當然只可能具備其中某一些優(yōu)點(diǎn)。
*應舉例說(shuō)明，如，曾經(jīng)獲得的獎勵、發(fā)表過(guò)的論文、參加過(guò)的重要學(xué)術(shù)會(huì )議，以及在學(xué)生組織或教學(xué)組織中的任職，等等。
在推薦信中要注意的其它事項是：
**推薦人應該對學(xué)生的學(xué)習或專(zhuān)業(yè)工作情況比較熟悉；
**實(shí)事求是，既要不夸張其辭，也不要低估學(xué)生的能力；
**不要用套話(huà)，但介紹學(xué)生的情況要具體、詳細，不要寫(xiě)得過(guò)于簡(jiǎn)單；
**學(xué)生在教學(xué)活動(dòng)以外的其它表現和成就，可以作簡(jiǎn)略的介紹，這也可以從一個(gè)側面反映學(xué)生的特點(diǎn)。
