一、概念與特點(diǎn) 調查報告是對某項工作、某個(gè)事件、某個(gè)問(wèn)題，經(jīng)過(guò)深入細致的調查后，將調查中收集到的材料加以系統整理，分析研究，以書(shū)面形式向組織和領(lǐng)導匯報調查情況的一種文書(shū)。
調查報告有以下幾個(gè)特點(diǎn)：
(一)寫(xiě)實(shí)性。調查報告是在占有大量現實(shí)和歷史資料的基礎上，用敘述性的語(yǔ)言實(shí)事求是地反映某一客觀(guān)事物。充分了解實(shí)情和全面掌握真實(shí)可靠的素材是寫(xiě)好調查報告的基礎。
(二)針對性。調查報告一般有比較明確的意向，相關(guān)的調查取證都是針對和圍繞某一綜合性或是專(zhuān)題性問(wèn)題展開(kāi)的。所以，調查報告反映的問(wèn)題集中而有深度。
(三)邏輯性。調查報告離不開(kāi)確鑿的事實(shí)，但又不是材料的機械堆砌，而是對核實(shí)無(wú)誤的數據和事實(shí)進(jìn)行嚴密的邏輯論證，探明事物發(fā)展變化的原因，預測事物發(fā)展變化的趨勢，提示本質(zhì)性和規律性的東西，得出科學(xué)的結論。
二、分類(lèi) 調查報告的種類(lèi)主要有以下幾種：
(一)情況調查報告。是比較系統地反映本地區、本單位基本情況的'一種調查報告。這種調查報告平方根是為了弄清情況，供決策者使用。
(二)典型經(jīng)驗調查報告。是通過(guò)分析典型事例，總結工作中出現的新經(jīng)驗，從而指導和推動(dòng)某方面工作的一種調查報告。
(三)問(wèn)題調查報告。是針對某一方面的問(wèn)題，進(jìn)行專(zhuān)項調查，澄清事實(shí)真相，判明問(wèn)題的原因和性質(zhì)，確定造成的危害，并提出解決問(wèn)題的途徑和建議，為問(wèn)題的最后處理提供依據，也為其他有關(guān)方面提供參考和借鑒的一種調查報告。
三、寫(xiě)法 調查報告一般由標題和正文兩部分組成。
(一)標題。標題可以有兩種寫(xiě)法。一種是規范化的標題格式，即“發(fā)文主題”加“文種”，基本格式為“××關(guān)于××××的調查報告”、“關(guān)于××××的調查報告”、“××××調查”等。另一種是自由式標題，包括陳述式、提問(wèn)式和正副題結合使用三種。陳述式如《東北師范大學(xué)碩士畢業(yè)生就業(yè)情況調查》，提問(wèn)式如《為什么大學(xué)畢業(yè)生擇業(yè)傾向沿海和京津地區》，正副標題結合式，正題陳述調查報告的主要結論或提出中心問(wèn)題，副題標明調查的對象、范圍、問(wèn)題，這實(shí)際上類(lèi)似于“發(fā)文主題”加“文種”的規范格式，如《高校發(fā)展重在學(xué)科建設――××××大學(xué)學(xué)科建設實(shí)踐思考》等。作為公文，最好用規范化的標題格式或自由式中正副題結合式標題。
(二)正文。正文一般分前言、主體、結尾三部分。
1.前言。有幾種寫(xiě)法：第一種是寫(xiě)明調查的起因或目的、時(shí)間和地點(diǎn)、對象或范圍、經(jīng)過(guò)與方法，以及人員組成等調查本身的情況，從中引出中心問(wèn)題或基本結論來(lái);第二種是寫(xiě)明調查對象的歷史背景、大致發(fā)展經(jīng)過(guò)、現實(shí)狀況、主要成績(jì)、突出問(wèn)題等基本情況，進(jìn)而提出中心問(wèn)題或主要觀(guān)點(diǎn)來(lái);第三種是開(kāi)門(mén)見(jiàn)山，直接概括出調查的結果，如肯定做法、指出問(wèn)題、提示影響、說(shuō)明中心內容等。前言起到畫(huà)龍點(diǎn)睛的作用，要精練概括，直切主題。
2.主體。這是調查報告最主要的部分，這部分詳述調查研究的基本情況、做法、經(jīng)驗，以及分析調查研究所得材料中得出的各種具體認識、觀(guān)點(diǎn)和基本結論。
3.結尾。結尾的寫(xiě)法也比較多，可以提出解決問(wèn)題的方法、對策或下一步改進(jìn)工作的建議;或總結全文的主要觀(guān)點(diǎn)，進(jìn)一步深化主題;或提出問(wèn)題，引發(fā)人們的進(jìn)一步思考;或展望前景，發(fā)出鼓舞和號召。
