與“結婚”有關(guān)的英語(yǔ)詞匯學(xué)習

　　在英語(yǔ)中，tie the knot就是結婚的意思，例如：Some couples fly off Las Vegas to tie the knot. （一些情侶專(zhuān)程飛到拉斯維加斯結婚。）此外，結婚還可以用marry; get married; wed來(lái)表示。
　　Marry是結婚的意思，可是要注意的是，“我要結婚”不能說(shuō)成I will marry. “結婚”老外不單講 marry，而說(shuō) get married. 因為單講 marry 是表示嫁或娶的`意思，是一個(gè)及物動(dòng)詞，必須要賓語(yǔ)。例如“我要娶她”就是 I will marry her. 。那么“結了婚”就可以說(shuō) We were married 或是 We got married. 這二種都很常用。
　　結婚還可以說(shuō)get hitched. 例如Let’s get hitched.（我們結婚吧。）另外，可以說(shuō) make a big commitment，原意“作一個(gè)重大的承諾”，婚姻不就是一個(gè)重大的承諾嗎？所以你可以說(shuō)I’ve decided to make a big commitment to him. 意思就是“我決定要嫁給他了。”
　　婚禮前通常來(lái)賓會(huì )將禮金即喜錢(qián)（gift of money to the couple）送給新郎新娘，而婚禮儀式（wedding ceremony）中最重要的部分則是交換結婚戒指（a wedding band），儀式結束后便開(kāi)始婚宴（Wedding dinner, a wedding reception）。
　　現在中國有越來(lái)越多的年青人趨向于西方式的婚禮。教堂婚禮的重頭戲就是由牧師帶領(lǐng)兩位新人作結婚誓言 （wedding vows），通常是這樣的一段話(huà)：I， Ross， take thee Rachel to be my wedded wife， to have and to hold from this day forward， for better or for worse， for richer or for poorer， in sickness and in health， to love and to cherish， till death do us part. （我 Ross，愿娶你 Rachel，成為我的太太，從今以后，不論是好是壞，富有還是貧窮，悲傷還是快樂(lè )，我會(huì )好好愛(ài)你，珍惜你，直到死亡將我們分開(kāi)。） 注：thee 是古英文，也就是 you 的意思。
