　　解釋?zhuān)旱谝粋�(gè)插入語(yǔ)however deficient 中的however在此不是轉折連詞，而是副詞，等于no matter how，但是因為后面出現了no matter how，而作者又追求語(yǔ)言表述的多樣性，所以作者在此使用了however deficient這樣較為少見(jiàn)的的語(yǔ)言。

　　盡管本句的插入語(yǔ)較多，第二個(gè)插入語(yǔ)很長(cháng)，但是本句的真正難點(diǎn)在倒裝上。破折號后面的部分是主句賓語(yǔ)的同位語(yǔ)從句，此從句中固定搭配bring A to B被倒裝成了bring to BA。如果把這句話(huà)恢復成正常語(yǔ)序，則是it brings people who, no matter how legitimately they have earned their materiall rewards, often lask those other qualities that evoke affection or admiration to predominant positions in a society。很明顯，這樣的語(yǔ)序會(huì )顯得頭重腳輕。
