Differences between Black English and Standard English

Abstract

English has become a global language. There are many varieties of English in the world. People in different areas speak different varieties of English. Black English, which was formed in the 17th century during the slave trade period, is also a variety of English. Many linguists and scholars became highly interested in Black English in the 20th century. This thesis，based on the existing research result, will discuss the differences between Black English and Standard English, including the definition, development of Black English and the differences in phonology, vocabulary and syntax between Black English and Standard English, two main varieties of English in the United States.

摘 要

    英語(yǔ)是1種使用最廣泛的世界語(yǔ)言，有很多變體。不同地區的人講不同的英語(yǔ)變體。形成于17世紀奴隸貿易時(shí)期的黑人英語(yǔ)就是英語(yǔ)變體中的1種。很多語(yǔ)言學(xué)家、學(xué)者對黑人產(chǎn)生了濃厚的興趣，從20世紀開(kāi)始陸續有大量關(guān)于黑人英語(yǔ)的研究。本文在已有的研究成果基礎上，將就黑人英語(yǔ)與標準英語(yǔ)這兩種變體之間的差異展開(kāi)討論，對黑人英語(yǔ)的定義和發(fā)展，以及黑人英語(yǔ)與標準英語(yǔ)在語(yǔ)音、詞匯和句法上的差異作詳細分析。
