A Study on English Apology
Abstract

Apology is a speech act which happens with a high frequency in our daily lives. A good English learner should have the ability of using the English apology in an accurate and logical way, which can display his personal culture. Also, it is helpful to improve the ability of learning and using English, and accelerates the cross-cultural intercommunication. Based upon these, this thesis compares the speech act of apology in English and Chinese, analyzes the influencing factors of choosing the English apology, what’s more, implications for teaching English as a foreign language are presented and the importance of strengthening language learners cross-cultural awareness and developing their cross-cultural communicative competence are thus called for.

摘  要

道歉語(yǔ)是日常生活中發(fā)生頻率較高的1種言語(yǔ)行為。正確、合理地使用英語(yǔ)道歉用語(yǔ)是1名合格的英語(yǔ)學(xué)習者應該具備的能力，體現了其自身的文化修養，同時(shí)也有助于英語(yǔ)學(xué)習和使用，促進(jìn)跨文化交際地順利進(jìn)行�；�于此，本文通過(guò)對比英漢兩族道歉言語(yǔ)行為，分析了影響英語(yǔ)道歉方式的選擇的因素，更重要的是提出了對英語(yǔ)教學(xué)的啟示，即教師應如何在英語(yǔ)教學(xué)過(guò)程中加強學(xué)習者的跨文化意識，培養他們的跨文化交際能力。
