Fourth year/senior: 大四
In the fourth year at an American university, do you still attend classes or were you interning and trying to find work? 美國大四，還要去上課嗎?還是基本都在實(shí)習、找工作?
I didn't attend my fourth year: 我自己沒(méi)上大四
I quit after three years since I fulfilled all my major credits, so I still got my degree: 我上了三年就不上了，因為已經(jīng)拿夠學(xué)分了
Dropout: 綴學(xué)
Super nerd: 學(xué)霸，超級書(shū)呆子
*英語(yǔ)里沒(méi)有一個(gè)特別對應“學(xué)霸”的詞，最貼切的是nerd, 但是nerd更強調成績(jì)超好的書(shū)呆子
美國最難的投行面試長(cháng)啥樣?
Goldman Sachs is famous for its intensely competitive interview process: 高盛的面試競爭激烈是出了名的
What was the hiring process like? 招聘過(guò)程是怎樣的?
How many rounds of interviews did you go through? 你經(jīng)過(guò)了幾輪面試?
It depends on the position, but generally there are three to four rounds of interviews: 要看你申請的職位，不過(guò)基本上有三、四輪面試
The last round is called a Super Day: 最后一輪面試叫Super Day
Super Day: “超級日”，美國金融銀行業(yè)的行話(huà)，形容最終一輪面試這一天
Intense: 緊張激烈的

You submit your resume and specify where you want to work and which position you're applying for: 遞交簡(jiǎn)歷，說(shuō)清自己應聘什么職位
The first round interview is usually a phone interview: 第一輪面試通常是電話(huà)面試
Analyst: 分析師
I interviewed with someone who was really chill：面試我的人態(tài)度很放松、很友善
Chill: 放松
But it's still an interview format: 但還是一個(gè)面試，不是閑聊
They ask you questions at first, and at the end you ask them questions: 他們會(huì )問(wèn)你問(wèn)題，最后你可以問(wèn)他們問(wèn)題
面試兩大類(lèi)問(wèn)題
Assume you'll be asked both behavioral and technical questions in the interview: 做好你會(huì )被問(wèn)到行為類(lèi)和技術(shù)類(lèi)兩類(lèi)問(wèn)題的準備
#1. Behavioral questions: 行為類(lèi)的問(wèn)題
Those questions are designed to find out about your personality: 行為類(lèi)的問(wèn)題是用來(lái)了解你的性格、個(gè)性特點(diǎn)的
They're trying to find out whether they want to work with you: 這些問(wèn)題會(huì )幫他們決定是否想跟你一起工作
The behavioral type of questions are mostly about what you wrote on your resume: 基本上問(wèn)題都跟你簡(jiǎn)歷上寫(xiě)的東西有關(guān)
For example, why did you take the classes you took? 比如你為什么選修那些課?
What kind of activities do you participate on campus? 你在學(xué)校參加了什么活動(dòng)?
Why are you interested in us? 你為什么要來(lái)我們這里工作?
#2. Technical questions: 技術(shù)性的問(wèn)題
These questions vary depending on the position you applied for: 這類(lèi)問(wèn)題根據你應聘的職位不同有所區別
If you're applying for a trader position in an investment bank, you might get questions like what kind of stocks have you been looking at? 比如你應聘銀行交易員的職位，那你會(huì )被問(wèn)到自己有買(mǎi)股票嗎?
What's your Portfolio strategy? 你的.投資組合策略是什么?
Very real world questions: 很真實(shí)、與現實(shí)接軌的問(wèn)題
Balance sheet: 資產(chǎn)負債表
Project financial statements: 預測財務(wù)報表
Evaluate cash flow: 評估現金流
臨時(shí)抱佛腳沒(méi)用
Cramming can only get you so far：臨時(shí)抱佛腳幫助有限

You have to prepare yourself mentally: 你要先做好思想準備
Those questions aren't meant to be a test: 這類(lèi)問(wèn)題不是用來(lái)陷害你的
They're meant to figure out if you’re the type of person that will thrive at their bank：這是用來(lái)衡量你是什么樣的人，能不能在投行環(huán)境里成功
30-second pitch about who you are: 還要準備一個(gè)30秒的自我介紹
Don’t overkill it by telling people how perfect you are: 不要用力過(guò)猛, 一個(gè)勁說(shuō)自己多完美
You need to tell a personal story of passion and growth: 重點(diǎn)要展現你的個(gè)人故事，體現你的熱情和成長(cháng)
For example, in one of my interviews, the interviewer intentionally flipped my resume over: 我有一次面試，面試官聽(tīng)了我的自我介紹，直接就把我的簡(jiǎn)歷翻過(guò)來(lái)，不看了
Then he asked me, “Mr. Perfect, tell me one time things didn’t go well.”： 然后問(wèn)我“完美先生”，講講自己不那么順利的一次
最爛的面試回答: 我是完美主義者
The worst answer to “What’s your greatest weakness?” is “I’m a perfectionist.”: 如果被問(wèn)到“你最大的缺點(diǎn)是什么?”，最爛的答案就是“我是個(gè)完美主義者”
If you answer that, people know it's not a sincere answer: 你這樣答，一聽(tīng)就知道不是真誠的回答
They want to know if you have honest assessement of yourself: 他們想知道你是否能誠實(shí)認識自我
The key is to be honest about your weaknesses, and show that you have been working to improve on it: 回答的關(guān)鍵是你要知道自己的弱點(diǎn)，而且一定要展現你是如何去克服它的
